G Herbo recently paid a visit to Hot 97 where he rejoined Funkmaster Flex. As usual Herb took his place next to the veteran DJ in a lively freestyle to let loose on a few songs.

This time around, as the 24-year-old pushes his PTSD record, he has given more pain than ever before to a strong show in lyricism colored. It has proven to be one of the most impressive freestyles of the Chicago emcee to date, as Herb has used the opportunity to flip bars of his street upbringing and the need to keep his son narrow. This time around the background was designed particularly for Herbo as the track was outfitted by his own producer.

PTSD is the fourth studio album of G Herbo, and appears to be the peak of his efforts to date. A deeper analysis of the same theme seen in this latest freestyle, PTSD features famously artwork depicting Herb’s own traumas. As he is holding up an American flag, the image of the 50 stars is replaced by the faces of friends and loved ones that G Herbo has lost over the years as the title of the album clearly represents the journey undertaken by the young rapper in terms of his mental health.
