Mr Peter Nworie, 45-year-old man from Amaeka community in Ezza south local government area of Ebonyi state has been dragged to court by his wife for allegedly pouring grounded ‘Cameroon’ pepper into her private part.

Mrs. Florence Nworie in suit numbered FLC \ 015\2019 is seeking divorce in her 20 years old marriage before the Ebonyi State Family Law Center Abakaliki and sought order of the court to mandate the husband to take responsibility of their children.

She alleged that constant beating and all forms of maltreatment from the husband forced her to run for her life for three years now until one day in November 2018 when she was apprehended by her husband and some of his kinsmen at a market and forced to the family house.

On reaching their well fenced compound at Ameka, she alleged that her husband striped her Unclad, tied her hands and feet like a criminal, beat her blue-black, poured pepper into her private part and abandoned her for days to die of hunger and pains in a vacant room in the compound.

The husband, Mr Peter accused the wife of infidelity. He insisted she left their house to a rented apartment to boost her said adulterous business, identifying that their second son was not his biological son, but a product of her promiscuous lifestyle.

He admitted to have forced her and dragged her home because he married her lawfully in accordance to the law of their land. But had to beat, tie her hands and legs with her cardigan on that day because she attempted pulling off his male reproductive organ from its original position.

He also admitted pouring sauce on the wife’s body but denied that he didn’t not pour grounded Cameroun pepper into her private part as the wife alleged.

After listening to the parties in the matter, the Chairman, Ebonyi state Family Law Centre Abakaliki, Mrs. Elizabeth Nwali ordered invitation of eye witnesses and parents/relations of the couple. She also directed that the under aged children from the union be kept under custody of the wife while the husband care for their upkeep accordingly.

The matter was adjourned to the 14th March, 2019 for continuation of hearing
