EndSARS: Shatta Wale Joins Protest Against Police Brutality
Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has joined Nigerian youths in calling for an end to police brutality in the West African country.
There has been massive protest on the streets and social media this week against the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit in the Nigeria Police Force.
Unlike other security outfits, SARS officials do not wear the usual police uniforms but they reportedly harass the public while discharging their duties across Nigeria.
The government has assured citizens of reforming the unit but they want it scrapped totally and Shatta Wale is backing their call.
Shatta Wale came from the street and I will stand for the street and vulnerable. The ghetto youth also deserves better. Enough of the killings. We must embrace ourselves and support one another. The Police is supposed to protect life but not to take life #StopPoliceBrutality π³π¬ pic.twitter.com/zv5RgEK5Wh
